EXTRACTS FROM OPINION, DATED DECEMBER 18, 2023:
“All these years I had the opportunity to cooperate with many Jehovah’s Witnesses while practicing surgeon oncology. My impressions are, all in all, excellent. They are patients with a high sense of responsibility while taking care of their health, as well as that of their children. They are well informed especially pertaining to matters of prevention and usually follow closely the relative follow-up exams (mammograms, endoscopies, etc.). While hospitalized, they keep closely to the guidelines of the doctors and the medical staff. As a result, and according to my personal experience, their progress is exceptional, as well as the prognosis of their oncological diseases.

At this point, I would like to underline the contribution of the Patient Blood Management system (PBM) to the progress not only of Jehovah’s Witnesses’ health, but also to the rest of the patients. This system is internationally used by all the major medical centers, especially related to the surgeon oncology sector. The implementation of this system, as proved by numerous scientific studies, has contributed significantly to a shorter hospitalization period, reducing post- operative complications and generally improving all the parameters connected with the patient. Our hospital is a pacesetter in the implementation of this system, and as a result, has obtain the ISO certification from the blood donation department.” (Original in Greek.)
