EXTRACTS FROM OPINION, DECEMBER 21, 2023:
“As a scientist, my concern is the optimal treatment of the patients, applying international guidelines, including the Patient Blood Management (PBM). I have observed, through my clinical experience, that the benefits resulting from the PBM approach are vital for the patients and the medical system as well. Some examples are, reduced morbidity and mortality rates, faster recuperation of the patient, smaller percentage of postoperative infection, lower hospitalization cost, and a shorter hospitalization period.
To summarize my overall experience of cooperating with Jehovah’s Witnesses, I have discerned that they are people with high moral standards, love for life as well as for the family institution. As patients, they show trust and appreciation for the role of the doctor, proving in this way, that they should also be treated with respect and impartiality.” (Original in Greek.)
